MTV, the music channel will try something new this year. They are going to throw a big big inaugural ball for president elect, Barack Obama.
The plans are for the party to be held on January 20 next year at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington DC. They plan to invite several celebrities and government officials as well. Normal individuals who showed excellent effort in their volunteerism are going to be invited as well.
Many other organizations besides MTV are also expected to hold their own inaugural balls.
Word is abuzz that President elect Barack Obama has plans of making his former rival for the democratic presidential bid, Hillary Clinton his new secretary of state. He has supposedly offered her the job.
There has been no official word from Hillary’s camp yet but rumors from certain notable publications are saying that Hillary is all set to accept the position.
The one major hurdle to get through is the vetting process. Obama’s people want to make sure that Hilary will not bring with her a conflict of interest regarding some issues.
Officla shave concluded that President elect Barack Obama will probably ask Defense Secretary Robert Gates to stay on at the Pentagon. He has also chosen a retired Marine General to be Whote House’s security advisor.
The retired officer, Gen. James Jones would bring a wealth of experience to the administration. Robert Gates has already sent word of his acceptance of the President-elect’s appointment. However, James Jones has not yet said if he would be accepting or declining his respective assignment.
