Updates of the weekly political scandals
Tina Fey’s spoofs of Sarah Palin have been so successful on hit show Saturday Night Live. In fact they’ve garnered the highest ratings for the show this season!
Sarah Palin knows about it and has even joked that she would turn the tables and dress up as Tina Fey this Halloween.
There are also rumors flying that the vice president nominee will spoof Tina Fey on her American Express commercials. She is said to do it on NBC’s Weekend Update.
On of the determining issues that makes or breaks candidates during elections are their stand regarding taxes. Biden, Obama’s VP might have ruffled a few feathers when he said this statement regarding taxes:
“Paying higher taxes should be considered patriotic for wealthy Americans.”
We’re guessing the remark didn’t sit too well with the many tax payers who are hoping for tax cuts.
Washington Post’s Baron Gellman has a new book called Angler: The Cheney Vice Presidency. In it, he’s saying some interesting things.
Apparently, after Hurricane Katrina struck, President Bush asked VP Cheney to head a “cabinet-level task force” with the goal of speeding up the recovery efforts. Cheney is said o have refused this request!!!
Bush was quoted as saying, “I asked Dick if he’d be interested in spearheading this, let’s just say I didn’t get the ost positive response.”
Apparently Cheney doesn’t do “touchy-feely” and was part of the reason for the refusal.
Cheney’s reluctance doesn’t surprise many who think that Cheney really underestimated the seriousness of the hurricane’s destruction.
